高尔夫是绿色鸦片， 那滑雪就是白色鸦片。

在瑞典生活，夏天不差高尔夫，冬天不差滑雪场。 (差啥? 蔬菜!)

在瑞典很多人夏天打高尔夫，冬天去滑雪。 从未听说高尔夫或滑雪会导致官员腐败。 距报道，瑞典是世界上腐败最少的国家之一。

Like golf, skiing is also a very nice sport you do in nature, and it is very common in Sweden. Many small kids learn to ski before they learn to walk. Next week is a "sport holiday" for schools in Sweden, many parents take their children to ski somewhere. 

I started to learn skiing more than ten years ago. As a tradition, our group arranges a two-days ski trip every year, one day for some seminar and the other day for skiing. With the help from three skilled PhD students, the first time I learned how to rotate toward right. The second year I learned how to rotate toward left. Only in the third year, after many many falls, I managed to ski downhill freely on the red line (green: beginner, blue: easy, red: difficult, black: very difficult). A nice experience: when you fall down, always some swedish people (sometimes small lovely kids) come and stop beside you, asking if you need help to get up. Later we also go skiing ourself or with chinese friends.

For several times, we had a ski holiday with a few good friends during the week between Christmas and New Year. Each family rented a cottage, in the daytime we did skiing together, and in the evenings we gathered in some cottage for chatting and singing, etc.

Our children also gathered in some other cottage to watch TV and playing games. That was a great experience. But soon we realized that our children are much btter than us in skiing. My son learned quickly and followed his friend (training in a ski club) to black line and even offpits (in the forest). Later, he changed to snowboard, and after only one day he could use snowborad to ski on the black line.      

There is no handicap system for skiing. It is not fun now for my son to ski with me, so I just let him to join his friends for skiing.
