荆州古城一瞥（上）-绕着古城转一圈

畅游湖北全景双卧9日游之七

    到武汉后的第一天，我们游览了东湖和黄鹤楼景区，下午我和赵师傅又去了汉口的园博园，回来我又自己浏览了长江大桥到二桥间的沿江美景，晚上还去了户部巷小吃街。第二天我们就上路往宜昌去了，不过中途却在荆州停留了2小时，用了午餐并游览了荆州古城。

    荆州古城，又名江陵城，是中国历史文化名城之一。有保存较完好的荆州古城墙，城内东西直径3.75公里，南北直径1.2公里，面积4.5平方公里，城墙周长10.5公里，高8.83米，共六座城门，每座城门上均建有城楼。荆州古城墙始建于春秋战国时期，曾是楚国的官船码头和渚宫，后成为江陵县治所，出现了最初城廓。经过三百五十多年的风雨，现存的古城墙大部分为明末清初建筑。现耸立在人们眼前的雄伟砖城，为明清两代所修造。砖城逶迤挺拔、完整而又坚固，是我国府城中保存最为完好的古城垣。

    荆州城是一座繁华而美丽的城市,也是一座历史悠久的文化名城.城的四周是我国南方保存最为完整的古城墙,城墙的外面环绕着一条弯曲的护城河。

    城墙与护城河之间有一条铺满清石板的林荫小道。春天，桃花开时，到处是踏清的游人；秋天，小道两旁盛开着许多野菊花，秋风习来，清乡扑鼻。我们就是乘坐着观光车，从东门出去，然后向北，再向西，绕着古城转圈，到西边又进城，后来再从南门出去往东，最后再回到东门。把古城整欣赏了一遍。这还不算，回到东门后，我们又到城墙上参观了一通，最后才乘车离开前往宜昌去的。
