20多年前，在中美洲的河边，受伤濒临死亡的鳄鱼Pocho碰到了好心的渔民Chito

Chito made friend with Pocho about 20 yeas ago,

finding him with a gunshot wound on the banks of Central American state's Parismina river,

he had been shot in the left eye by a cattle farmer and was close to death.

好心的渔民Chito将鳄鱼Pocho带回家疗伤。鳄鱼刚开始很瘦，只有150磅，Chito日夜守护在Pocho的身旁，

为的是让它知道有人爱它，并不是所有的人类都是坏蛋，直至6个月之后的完全康复。

有一天，Chito将Pocho放入离家不远的一个池塘内，发现Pocho跟在他身后回家了。

"He was very skinny, weighing only about 150 lb.

I gave him chicken, fish and medicine for 6 months to help him recover. 

I stayed by Pocho's side while he was ill, sleeping next to him at night.

I just wanted him to feel that somebody loved him, that not all humans are bad."

One day, Chito left Pocho in a lake near his house, to his amazement,

Pocho got out of the water and began to follow him home.

经过数年的训练，Chito发现终于可以接近Pocho，甚至发现Pocho 还能听懂他的呼唤

It took years before Chito felt Pocho had bounded with him enough to get closer.

"Then I found out when I called his name he would come over to me."
