1）住了四年的八舍（南大唯一的女生宿舍）No.8 dormitory (the only one for the girl students)

 2）八舍离广州路门最近，出门不远就是珠江路，到新街口和鼓楼都很方便

gate at Guangzhou road is close to No.8 dormitory, very convenient to the city centre   Xinjiekou or Gulou

 

 3）在博友似水流年的博客看到相关的介绍后才知道拉贝故居在南大校园。

    原来故居在11舍与12舍之间，难怪俺就学期间永远也走不到那个角落。

from my blog friend Shi Shui Liu Nian, i got to know that John Rabe's former residence is in    the south campus; by this trip i found it is between No.11 and 12 dormitory, aha, that's why i never knew it,  i had never been there, in that corner, at that time

       No.3 and 4 dining hall has been replaced by this building

 

 12）看似随意的摆放，其实井然有序，大学四年期间从来没有丢过热水瓶，看来这个传统还在延续 ...

       never worry about these thermos bottles, I never got them lost during my four years;

       it seems a good tradition still practiced there ...

 

 13）黑板报栏，学生思想的“摇篮”，每一次的学潮都是从这里开始萌芽 ...

       the black boards,

       "cradle" for the minds of students and 

       "seedbed" for almost every campus upheaval

 18）邮局还在南苑门口的老地方，只是位置移到了第2间，第1间让位给了银行。

    这年头，有钱好办事，一切都优先啊 ...

    the post office is still there but moved a bit, its orignal place is now a bank instead,

      ok, money always comes first these days ...

      mail office is still there, no change though i totally forgot about my mail box number then

 

 21）路的尽头就是公共教育楼，阶梯教室晚自习常去，也是系里周六给我们上政治课（洗脑）的地方

at the end of the road is the education building where i normally had the evening self study  and it is also the place for political education (brainwash) on Saturdays by the Department

 23）新图书馆，晚自习阶梯教室没有空位置，常来这里的阅览室看书

       the old library building has been changed to the museum of the university

there are higher buildings around the North Building now but the Red Star on the North Building will never change its colour

 

 34）礼堂，密特朗总统访华时曾来校作报告的地方，记得当时只有法文专业的教师和学生才有资格入场聆听

auditorium, where the late President Mitterrand once delivered his speech during his visit to China; remember only students and teachers of the French Specialty of Foreign Languages Department were allowed entrance for his speech

 39）北大楼的这面依旧高大 the North Building still looks quite high from this side

 出天津路校门后不远处就是鼓楼 there is Gulou a bit far outside the Tianjin Road Gate

 

鼓楼旁边的这个高楼，据说是亚洲数得上名的，也让鼓楼变矮喽

this tall building makes Gulou look smaller,

it is said to be one of the tallest buildings in the Asia
