1920年，留学英伦的刘半农先生创作了一首《教我如何不想她》，由赵元任先生谱曲后，广为流传。

随着这首歌在国内的传唱，“她”字也随歌而飞，并在现代汉语中扎下根来，成为表示第三人称女性的人称代词。从汉语史角度来看，“她”表示第三人称女性的用法确立于五四时期，这种用法的确立与刘半农及其《教我如何不想她》有密切关系。《半农谈影》是中国第一部摄影理论专著。

Mr. Liu Bannong wrote this poem "Cannot Stop Missing Her" in 1920 when he was studying in Britain and it became quite popular after the composition by Mr. Zhao Yuanren. "Ta" , the Chinese character standing for "She" and "Her" was thus rooted in the Chinese language. In this sense, we can say Mr. Liu Bannong with the poem had made his contribution to the development of the Chinese language and he was also the author of the first academic book (monograph) on photography in China.
