Full Course Portraits

The Course Portrait was developed by Michael Hopkins as he studied and drew The Old Course. What other golfing venue would be a more fitting place to begin? The colors and textures unique to linksland golf courses are a natural fit to the portrait technique. And where else can this quirky yet fascinating collection of golf holes be appreciated in their entirety?

Pine Valley

The perennial world's #1, this George Crump design is undoubtedly a masterpiece. The only sad fact surrounding this fabulous track is how little even golf enthusiasts know about its features. This is the mission of the Course Portrait.

Cypress Point

Perhaps Alister MacKenzie's second most genius American layout. An examination of the routing alone speaks to the grandeur of Cypress Point. In this Course Portrait, that routing can be fully studied and appreciated as it moves across dunes and through woodlands before reaching its famous seaside climax.

The South Course at Torrey Pines

This original William F. Bell layout has recently been revamped by Rees Jones in preparation of the 2008 US Open Championship. This portrait showcases the unique setting of the course atop the cliffs that front the Pacific Ocean, but not in a way that detracts from the importance of the course itself.

The first Course Portrait used in an architectural presentation. The Short Course portrait was created for Phoenix-based Golf Course Architect Forrest Richardson, ASGCA.
