I thinksmiling is as important as sunshine. Smiling is like sunshine because it canmake people happy and have a good day. If you aren’t happy, you can smile, andthen you will feel happy. Someone may say, “But I don’t feel happy.” Then Iwould say, “Please smile as you do when you are happy or play with your friendshappily. You will really be happy again.”

Smilingcan let you have more friends.So I say, smiling is like a flower. It will giveyou happiness.

Idleness is the opposite of industry. It isthe source of all evil. An idle man only enjoys playing and making pleasures.That he is doomed to failure is of no doubt. We should not follow hisexample.

IS Failure a Bad Thing Failure is a common thing inour daily life. As students, we sometimes fail to get high scores in our exams.When we play games, we might be beaten by others. And there are times when wefail to do work well. All these failures happen naturally and almost every oneof us has such experiences. However, there are different attitudes towardsfailure. Some people lose heart when they fail; they think the world is at itsend. Some people don‘t take failure seriously but just let it be, while someothers learn much from failure, and therefore see the light of hope throughfailure. In my opinion, what is really important is not failure itself, butwhat we think of failure and what we do after failure. As long as we don‘t giveup, keeping believing in ourselves, and at the same time learn something fromfailure, we‘ll certainly make our mark in the end. So Iam never afraid of failure, for I believe that failure is not a bad thing.Rather, “Failure is the mother of success.”

The Goodness of Life Though there is much to beconcerned about, there is far, far more for which to be thankful. Though life’sgoodness can at times be overshadowed, it is never outweighed. For every singleact that is senselessly destructive, there are thousands more small, quiet actsof love, kindness and compassion. For every person who seeks to hurt, there aremany, many more who devote their lives to helping and to healing. There isgoodness to life that cannot be denied. In the most magnificent vistas and inthe smallest details, look closely, for that goodness always comes shiningthrough. There is no limit to the goodness of life. It grows more abundant witheach new encounter. The more you experience and appreciate the goodness oflife, the more there is to be lived. Even when the cold winds blow and theworld seems to be covered in foggy shadows, the goodness of life lives on. Openyour eyes open your heart, and you will see that goodness is everywhere. Thoughthe goodness of life seems at times to suffer setbacks, it always endures. Forin the darkest moment it becomes vividly clear that life is a pricelesstreasure.
