当天游玩南沙天后宫的时候，顺便参观了山上的大角山炮台
大角山炮台
是全国重点文物保护单位。鸦片战争和抗日战争时期，英勇的中国军民在此与外国侵略者殊死拼斗，写下了可歌可泣的壮烈诗篇。炮台在
1982 年被国务院正式列入全国重点文物保护单位。当地各级政府和有关部门对大角山炮台这一文物古迹十分重视，专门拨出巨款重修，并于
1997
年香港主权回归前夕对广大游客开放。现在对游客开放的七座炮台分别是：振威台、振定台、安平台、安胜台、安威台、安定台、安盛台（后改名为流星台）等，以及火药局即洋弹药库一座。
