乔治·冈德拉赫（George Gundlach）是国防军第291步兵师506步兵团的摄影师。在战争期间，冈德拉赫拍了约四千张照片。他绕过军事检查，将底片送回家。因此它们得以保留。
战争结束后，他出版了这本独特的相册“ Volkhov Battle”----恐怖记录：1941年-1942年。” 
他在相册前的题词写到：“警惕战争，以纪念死者。没有战争。世界和平。”
