哈伊姆·格罗斯（1904-1991）出生于科洛马（现乌克兰），1919年Chaim在布达佩斯接受艺术教育。1921年移民到美国，在纽约地区的格林威治村定居。作过信使、推销员等，后来，Gross在美术设计学院学习了4年，他的老师是雕塑家Eli
Nadelman和Robert Lauren（1890-1970）。1938年，格罗斯参加了雕塑家协会的创建。他在新社会研究学院任教，接近六十八年。他的作品在75个博物馆展出，主要在美国（包括大都会）和以色列。他获得的奖项包括：巴黎世界博览会银奖（1937年），美国艺术与文学奖（1963年）等。
