由于许多陡峭的悬崖和墙壁发生强大的爆炸，多洛米蒂山脉的战斗仍留在记忆中。在科尔迪拉纳，拉加索伊和施瑞肯施泰因，于1915年至1916年的冬季，雪崩带走了数千人的生命。
在有些地方，高达12米的积雪下降，Marmolata的Gran Poz只有一次雪崩，一次造成300人死亡。几乎与Höhlensteinal山谷的命运雪崩灾难一样。

在阿尔卑斯山战争中，至少有15万人在各自敌人的手中丧生，陷入深渊，死于饥饿或被雪崩埋藏。
高山战争成为战争滑雪，几乎像吉尼斯统计一个又一个创纪录：军事史上第一次在征服trohtysyachnik（蒙Skarlutstso，3094米），在军事史上第一次冰川战（Prezema 2700米），在当时最高的山战斗（蓬圣马特奥，3692米），最高的山峰沟使用武器（Ortler，3905米）。
