后来，日军从拉包尔向特鲁克转运了约100架飞机。这些飞机于1944年4月29日至30日遭到美国航空母舰的袭击，其中大部分被摧毁。特鲁克被彻底摧毁，70多艘船和400架飞机被摧毁或淹死。
