圣艾萨克大教堂的高度为101.5米，长宽约100米，内部广场超过4000平方米。穹顶的外径为25.8米，建筑上装饰着112个不同大小的单片花岗岩柱。墙壁上衬有浅灰色的Russkale大理石。室内装饰以大理石，孔雀石，青金石，镀金青铜和马赛克。对内部工作开始于1841年由俄罗斯著名艺术家（F. A.布鲁尼，K. P. Bryullov，VK Shebuev）和雕塑家（I. P.维塔利，P. K. Klodt）审定。
