The Third Law Of Medical Science

A netizen gave his comment after he had read my

blogs:

"Each medicine has something poisonous ."

I replied : What you said is right !

“Each medicine has something

poisonous .”

In fact , this is the Third Law of Mediccal Science .

According to the third law , we can realize easily that

both traditional Chinese medicine and western

medicines have something poisonous .

So , we can't say that traditional Chinese medicine

only means toxicity while western medicine only

means effectiveness .

And by the third law , we also can easily explain lot

toxic and side effects caused by western medicine ,

and explain a large number of facts that our TCM

( Traditional Chinese Medicine ) can effectively

treat many diseases.

In fact , both patients and doctors should face up to

the toxicity of drugs , and the understanding of drug

toxicity should be objective and fair .

So , doctors mustn't cajole or cheat patients by words

like "All western medicines are effective , while all

traditional Chinese medicines are toxic " .

Otherwise , it is very irresponsible.

Objectively speaking , many western medicines are

also toxic .

So , we should't let western medicines muddle through

using all the words like "Toxic side effects " .

For examples :

1. Streptomycin, kanamycin, gentamycin, etc. have

obvious toxicity to the cranial nerves , which can

cause tinnitus, dizziness, and deafness .

2. Chloramphenicol , synthamycin and most

anti-cancer drugs are toxic to the hematopoietic

system , which can inhibit bone marrow

hematopoiesis and cause leukopenia and

thrombocytopenia .

3. In the 1950s , thalidomide , a new drug in Western

Europe , was widely used as a sedative in pregnancy

reaction , resulting in more than 8000 deformed

fetuses .

4. As we know , sublingual nitroglycerin can effectively

treat angina pectoris in an appropriate amount .

But on the other hand , nitroglycerin is also an

explosive .

5. Warfarin is a commonly used western medicine ,

mainly used to prevent and treat thromboembolism

disease.

But warfarin is also used to deratize !

And those who always want to ruin our TCM will not be

unaware of such basic knowledge ?

Of course , excessive dosage and long duration of

taking medicine are often important factors that

induce drug toxicity .

Therefore , when we want to avoid the toxic effects of

drugs as far as possible , the most important is not to

tell traditional Chinese medicines from western

medicine , but to know the medicine efficacy , to

strictly control the dosage of drugs .

Speak specifically , the dosage of drugs should be

strictly controlled within the effective dosage level ,

not reach the toxic dosage as far as possible .

And also , the experience of patients' using drug

should be considered in detail , and the drug

reaction of patients should also be observed in

detail .

At last , in a word :

“Each medicine has something

poisonous .”

And according to this third law , we can also get the

following inference :

Whether traditional Chinese medicine or western

medicine , the toxicity is known and controllable .
