今天终于在两个星期中的恶战中解脱，BEC higher考完了，发挥还算正常，也给了自己一个交代。无论是学识还是心境都提升颇多。

在我埋头备考的时候，好多小伙伴好奇，你整天在学什么啊？这个考试有用吗？考试好考吗 ?

 

一、商务英语最有价值的地方：准确！！！

 

 

今天借着刚考完脑中的知识储备（2015年11月14日BE高级考试），和大家详细聊聊BEC的那点事儿，也给想考的同学提供一点信息，给感兴趣的同学介绍一下BEC的大致情况。

 

BEC全称剑桥商务英语，很明显，看名字就知道和商务有关，但是商务又是什么呢？商务英语怎么可以单独成立一门学科或者考试呢？

 

举个例子，辽宁师范大学有个超市叫亮亮，后山有之，北山食府有之，图书馆有之，浴池隔壁有之。这么多超市我们在学商务英语之前可能会叫做shop，或者store，或者supermarket，可是学了商英之后你会知道这些词都不准确，甚至你说完老外会感到困惑，正确的表达方式应该是“亮亮’s supermarket chain”。什么意思，chain不是链条吗，在这怎么表示店面了？这就是商务英语最有价值的地方：准确！！！

 

学完商务英语你会发现，好多东西不是四 六级里面说的那样表达：

比如下订单（就比如刚刚过去的双十一 淘宝吧），你第一反应是什么？Shopping online？意思对，但是不准确。下订单叫做“place an order”，动词搭配只能用place 不能用down…..这个不用我说大家也能懂吧。

还有，马云抢占国内网购市场份额，先发制人，怎么表达？-Take the initiative。

我们最常说的，我们学校很偏（远）啊，没有平台让我发展社交能力和人脉，那么这用一个词概括叫什么？Geographically isolated “地缘孤立”。

再比如说，图书馆附近的炒酸奶比学生通道门口的好吃，为什么啊，因为奥利奥放得多啊。这就是raw material原材料决定了商品的质量（high-quality），从而带来了客户满足感（satisfaction），进而我的学习效率（efficiency）提高了。

还有这几天在图书馆我常觉得人好多图书馆占座好难，这个难怎么说，difficult？不，这里是形容拼得艰难，用struggle更好。比如，我这两周很拼就可以用I was struggling。

 

以上这些地道的商务英语用法，是我在哪里学的呢？---BEC学到的！！！

 

在准备BEC考试过程中，以上都是很容易出现的场景。你会觉得“这不就是xx的生活再现吗”。好多时候费尽心机想破头也想不到的英文表达，BEC却给出了非常准确简洁的定义。

 

这个考试尤其适合想拿英语证书证明英语能力，但是觉得雅思托福太贵，时间金钱成本太高的同学。如果进外企，那这个考试就再适合不过啦。（BEC中级：¥500 高级：¥630）

 

二、那一刻我心里对BEC感激得真是临表涕零不知所言！

 

实习过后更是觉得，这个考试太有益于工作。

 

十月中旬我参加了一次实习，是一家主打轻奢侈品跨境电商（类似唯品汇的互联网公司只不过商品换成了轻奢消费品），职位是BD（business development商务拓展），第一天上班我做完自我介绍leader给我布置任务的第一句话是：上个月，我们错过了一场商会…..我当时心里一颤，这是要考我商务英语学得扎实不扎实吗…..然后我假装很懂地点了点头…..

 

其实不是假装懂，而是因为真的不陌生。五月备考BEC中级的时候已经接触过什么叫做商会了“trade fair”，一个行业的各个商家汇聚在一起（酒店，会所等）等待潜在顾客（potential customers place considerable orders）下批量订单。那一刻我心里对BEC感激得真是临表涕零不知所言，真是因为学过所以才有底气。

 

随后我有幸去了法国时尚风行展，见到了真正的trade fair，看到了展台，exhibition stand，stand在这里是台的意思。看到了真正的interpreter（翻译员），理解了为什么订货商（我们公司）在下订单时候要注意原材料（raw material），品牌形象（brand images）原产国家（location），客户定位（targeted customer ）。当时我在接触到这些新鲜事物的时候无比欣喜，学过的BEC原来是这个意思！

 

更让我开心的是，正是因为有BEC的基础，所有leader交给我的工作我都能立刻上手，没有理解上的困难。我知道leader要的文件需要突出（highlight）哪里，我知道公司需要什么样的定位（position）。临走的时候leader说了一句：I love smart girls like you！其实不是我聪明，而是学过的BEC 真的让我对这些商业知识有浅薄的了解，我才能做好上级布置的任务。

 

所以，打算去外企的同学，BEC真的很利于你理解你的职业发展：

1.    快速看清公司架构（公司的实力，创建方式，管理架构）；

2.    明确自己职务内容（工作的哪个部分在创造什么样的价值）；

3.    辨别同事关系（哪个同事是属于哪个领域的，他们的专长是什么，分工是什么）

4.    加速晋升道路（老板公司需要的是到底什么，你如何为他们解决问题

5.    为公司提出发展战略（公司定位是什么？面临的发展问题是什么）

 

因为我们公司是创业公司和（startup），还没有完成A轮，所以管理结构（managerial structure）比较扁平（flat），所以上下级关系很close，我和leader接触机会很多，所以每当leader问我“你对xx问题怎么看”时，我就有话可说，不至于像门外汉一样尴尬的一句话都说不出来。而我作为一个大学前三年被geographically isolated的乡村学生是怎么知道这些知识的？就是考BEC时候潜移默化记住的。

 

商务英语涉及范围很广，除了可以对号入座生活中的各个场景之外还可以让你对向往但没机会亲自体验的行业有初步了解，比如说，行政管理（HR）的职责有哪些，比如说销售经理如何才算业绩好有良好升职空间，比如说CEO是什么，董事会是什么，他们之间的关系又是什么。

 

我们常用“xx高富帅出任CEO迎娶白富美”形容一个男生事业有成，那么CEO在公司里的职务到底是什么呢？COO和CEO又有哪些区别？这些问题BEC都会一一解答你，让未涉足社会的你对社会各个生产领域有初步的判断，让已经工作的你对现有的社会运作有更深刻的理解和感知。

 

三、备考的同学请谨记在心！

 

最后，用今年五月考过的BEC中级分享一些自己备考技巧。（71/100）得分比例是：阅读＞写作＞口语＞听力。接下来分单项说吧：

 

阅读：只刷真题，先刷美森发的《题型精炼系列》，再刷美森发的《未解密真题集系列》。得分要点：掌握商务知识，总结商务词汇。在这里插一句背单词的方法。老师不断叮嘱一定要背单词，然后我常被人问到背单词有用没，我说我从不背单词。后来发现我不是不背，而是我的方法很有趣，我掌握的词汇都是刷阅读刷出来的，而且我只看双解字典，把一个单词用脑海中熟悉的词替换掉了才算掌握。这个方法延续到高级备考，很受益啊！具体操作方法我会另开一篇写。

 

听力：还是刷真题。最重要的是听写！！！听写真的是个大招！就像舞蹈要拉伸，健身要扎马步，提高听力一定得练听写！听写会同时提高你的口语，词汇量，写作。我一直练的是美音，可是考完中级那天的英语角，被好多人问：“请问英音是怎么炼成的？！”后来才发现，是听写在起作用。参加美森高级模考时，几个月没写过成段语篇的我，老师批改后给我作文5-分，欣喜之余我发现我用的表达都是来自于听写的潜移默化的记忆。还有词汇量，BEC的听力材料都是最地道的表达，外国人就这么说这么用跟着学肯定不会错。

 

听写最重要的是，写完一个段落之后要对照原文，红笔更改自己与原文不一致的地方，为什么不一致？是因为读音还是因为词义？因为连读还是因为重音？弄清楚之后你会发现好多“熟词”的重音和发音你并没有正确的掌握，而这些才是导致你听力失分的原因。而且BEC听力有个特点，虽然它语速快得变态，但是十句话里只有两句话是重点，这需要我们学会找听力发力点，BEC的听力发力点就是speaker语气变得神秘兮兮之后的部分，你要是听到speaker飞速讲话突然变得莫名其妙的，语气变得想告诉你又不想告诉你的时候肯定出答案！备考的同学请谨记在心！

 

写作：听课，把一篇作文写到能够完全掌握。好多人问我报班没。BEC中级我考过两遍，大一刚考完四级裸考过一次，挂了。第二次报班，过了。所以证明什么！报班真的很有必要！尤其BEC技巧性这么强的考试。推荐美森（我是在这上的课），电话：400-688-4090（实体学校、网校都有）。

 

口语：我平时就比较注意，再加上美森的模考和考前预测，口语不是很费精力。要考的同学不要太紧张，记得把重点放阅读听力上哈。而且美森押题真的很准的，今天的大作文report一字不落的押中了原题，口语3部分全部押中，也是醉了…..

 

四、说好的背单词方法，一步一步为大家detail：

 

一、双解字典查读音，查英语释义。（我用的是牛津高阶英汉双解app和纸质）

比如manner：the way that sth is done or happens，方式，方法。

为什么要用双解呢，好多同学觉得这样麻烦。其实双解是很高效的方法，因为BEC无论中级高级都会考一个题型，完形填空。完形填空会考同义词辨析，比如为什么“领导管理方式”选manner不能选method。双解词典里method：a particular way of doing sth。 看好了，method指的是对某一特定事件的解决方法，而manner并不特指哪件事，而是指一种风格，行事作风。这样，通过双解词典一次弄清，再也不错。这就是我推荐大家双解词典的原因。

 

2、同义词入库，找自己脑海里的哪个词和它匹配或相近：way/method
