Plot of  Mission Impossible Ⅲ

       Ethan（performed by Tom Cruise）used to work for I.M.F., an American secret agency, and is going to get married. One day, right before marriage, invited by Muskrave, his ex-colleague, he went back to rescue Farris, a female secret agent who was his student and. Ethan and his team managed to get the agent to helicopter but find a time-bomb in her head. Farris died during Ethan tried to draw the bomb out of her head.

Returning back to agent with only a dead body, Ethan was strictly criticized by Brassel, the officer of I.M.F. who was in charge of the case. Brassel said the action was totally defeated, only to cause humiliation and make the gangleader bolder. Several days later, Ethan received a letter from Farris who sent the mail just before she was caught by the gangleader. That is a strange letter with a tiny red dot under the stamp, he went to his friends in Technology Department of the agency for help. At that time, he got intelligence that the gangleader would sell something called Rabbit Foot in Rome, a thing that is said to be able to destroy the world.

 Ethan got married with his fiancée in a hurry and flied to Rome with a team of agency. Muskrave approved the plan with Brassel knowing nothing about it. Ethan and his team succeeded to kidnapped the gangleader, but on their way back to America, they received a video encoded from the tiny dot. In the movie, Farris told Ethan she tracked the gangleader’s phone call and found it was from Brassel’s office. Then Ethan’s car was attacked by an armed helicopter and the gangleader fled.

 Ethan was arrested by agent but fled with the help of Muskrave. Ethan found his wife was kidnapped by the gangleader and got a phone telling him to find the Rabbit Foot in 48 hours or his wife will be killed. From Muskrave, Ethan got to know that the Rabbit Foot was in Shanghai, so he hurried to Shanghai. Under the same team’s help, at the last minute, Ethan got the Rabbit and went to the gangleader to trade for his wife. There, Ethan found it is Muskrave who is the real wire-puller. After an intensely fight, Ethan killed the gangleader and Muskrave and saved his wife.

In the end, Ethan was invited to serve the Whitehouse and his answer is to think about it. He ask Brassel what on hell the Rabbit is and the answer is he will get the answer if he decides not to resign his job.
