Objective

Find food for thought from Granny

Part I  Lead-in

Are you familiar with the following sayings? How do you understand them? Work in pairs and share with each other your ideas.

Granny always had smart solutions to the author’s problems. Scan the text and pick them.

On public speaking: the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. So, what exactly are you afraid of?

On extra work: hard work never hurts anyone…you can try practicing in front of a mirror.

On troubles in life: I don’t mind a little trouble. It adds variety and flavor to my soup ----and to my life. My soup would be bland without…ups and downs.
