本单元课文A主题对于本科生来说，不太能引起他们的共鸣，课文结构脉络与内容匹配不是很清晰，长句比较多，学生理解起来会有一点困难，基于这一点，我打算用课文B作为上课内容，课文A作为课外泛读。又因为是第一次课，学生事先不知道我的计划，不可能预习，以下设计的上课提纲基于学生未预习课文(这叫裸上吗，哈哈)。计划课时40m*3。

Objectives

1. Talk about a good name(good reputation) and the value of a good name

2. Learn how to earn and keep a good name.

3. Enlarge vocabulary by finding “old/new friends”.

4. Write a composition on a good name

I. Lead-in

1. Of the celebrities you know in news media, who has earned a good name?

2. What do they have in common? (honest, truthful, faithful to work, open to suggestions and ideas…)

3. Involve Ss in talking about Li Tianyi’s story (李天一).

思路:

a.    Li’s father(李双江): earn a good name as a singing artist and a professor; win the respect and trust of other people.

b.    Li Tianyi: not have a sense of shame, not do anything to honor his father; fail to maintain his father’s good name…(见机引到)

1. Find old friends. 本课有些单词包含了一个学过的旧单词，如barn-bar, canal-can…

2. Find new friends. 本课有些单词替换一个字母则变成另一个单词，如mill-milk, relief-belief.

随堂掌握时间，时间到，老师展示并点评最长清单并表扬该小组。
