Objective
1. Talk about true meaning of love and family affection;
2. Convey love to family members;
3. Get a sense of how to take care of a disabled like Jimmy
Pre-class activity
Read the text twice and re-write the story in Jimmy’s tone with no less than 150 words. In the story Jimmy is supposed to include how his sister, mother, father, sister’s friends care about him. (由于是第一课,事前无法布置学生预习,恐怕难实现。)
Part I Warming-up:

1)把全班分成A、B、C三组,A组在黑板左边列出他们认为本单元最有用的名词(依次前来黑板,每人写一个)、B组在黑板中间列出最有用的动词、C组在黑板右边列出最有用的形容词和副词。
2)每个学生从A、B、C三组词中分别选择3个词造句(这句话必须包括这三个词),继续选词造句,要求学生造3-4个句子。
3) 鼓励学生把自己认为写得最好的句子写到黑板上。
4)点评,必要讲解,结束此活动。
(选词不限于单词表,更鼓励到课文中找)

Part III After-class task
Make a phone call home, showing how much you love your parents and at the same time sharing with them your troubles and puzzles at college. Be sure to write down the responses and share with the classmates next week how you get strength and inspiring in this communication.

另外,第一单元的上课思路已经解决了,可第一节(I mean the first period,40m)怎么上还是茫然,由于是第四周开课,再谈暑假见闻显然已经不合适,可开篇第一节就直接上课文,我还是不太习惯,再说学生也听不下去呀,期待大家贡献一些灵感哦。
