大觉寺在举办玉兰节,原来是为了纪念南院中300年树龄的玉兰,现在还剩1棵.

   去过大觉寺许多次了,没有太深的印象,有2次就是奔着明慧茶院去的.只记得古松翠柏,泉水依山而下,茶院中明媚的阳光.

寺院周围的环境,有些嘈杂.但路两边的桃园中,桃花开得灿灿烂烂.

   这次再去,不禁有些遗憾,也许是寺院正在整修的缘故吧.大殿素面朝天,与其他寺院雕梁画栋形成鲜明对照,更显古朴.

   这座始建于辽咸雍四年（1068年）的古寺，为契丹人所建，坐西朝东的寺院，体现了契丹人尊日东向的习俗。在西山八大院中,以清泉，古树，玉兰花和环境的清幽而著称.
