已经有将近10年没有去过八大处了，走到牌楼前一看，门口已经是车水马龙，不再是记忆中清净的山径庙宇了。山脚下的灵光寺，因为供奉着佛牙舍利，香火旺盛。

  “八大处”，又称“西山八大处”、八大刹，是北京西山著名的风景区。8座古刹依次为长安寺、灵光寺、三山庵、大悲寺、龙泉庵、香界寺、宝珠洞、证果寺。

   灵光寺在翠微山东麓，始建于唐。根据佛教史藉的传说，佛陀入灭后，有两颗灵牙留在人间，一颗传到斯里兰卡，一颗辗转传到中国。

  1900年毁于八国联军炮火的辽塔－招仙塔座，当年的佛牙舍利就是在此塔基中寻获的。

灵光寺的位置很好，依山而建，虽然不在山顶，但东面的北京城一览无余。

   山中无老虎，猫儿称大王。金鱼池边有不少猫儿，估计是喂养的，悠闲的在自己的领地散步。
