没想过可以上金鸡山看一百多年前的炮台，因为它不对外开放。这次参加广西新闻网组织的全国几十家网络媒体记者参加的#e眼看崇左#南疆行，才有机会登上神秘的金鸡山军营。

凭祥友谊关两边是高山，有一条路可以上去小炮台看看，可惜没时间。友谊关的右辅山又称为金鸡山，位于友谊关西侧，海拔596米，西南两面为悬崖峭壁，山势险峻，形成一幅天然屏障。山顶上有3个山头，呈鼎立之势，为守关之兵家要地，历代均设重兵把守。

我们直接坐车上金鸡山，走进军营，绿树成荫，环境优雅，如果不是看到有炮台，根本没想到这里历来是兵家必争之地。1886年，中法战争镇南关大捷后，名将苏元春为了加强中越边境防务，特选此山营造了三座炮台，名为镇北、镇中、镇南台。炮台倚山势而建，均以青石砌就，严丝合缝。各炮台均配置有一门可旋转180度的德制十二生大炮，镇中炮台的大炮已于1959年运往北京，现收藏于中国历史博物馆。三座炮台还分别筑有地下营垒，用以屯粮草弹药和士兵居住。这三座炮台与凭祥境内的三十多座大、中型炮台遥相呼应，共同组成了保卫祖国南疆的铜墙铁壁。

不过我们看到这留下了的克虏伯大炮竟然是一门留有哑弹的炮，让人感叹。就是说这炮费进一年运上来，居然没有打过一发炮弹。关于炮弹没有打出的原因，历来有多种猜测。一种说法是那门炮在制造过程中考虑到炮筒不断升温，根据热涨冷缩的原理制造了尺寸从小到大数百枚炮弹，最大的炮弹最后填装。可是发射时装弹士兵把顺序弄反了，首先装填了尺寸最大的炮弹，结果就卡在了炮筒里。另一种说法是由于德国与法国当时在越南有共同利益，德国在买大炮给清政府时，炮弹中混有实心假炮弹，让清军一打就死火了。总之，也没办法考究是怎么一回事，倒是让金鸡山更加神秘了。

在炮台上，可以一揽中越边境方圆数里迷人的风景。左边是越南，右边是中国，可见这个位置的重要性。
