2015年6月真题一
Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying “Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it”. You can give one or two examples to illustrate your point of view. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
An instructive saying goes that “Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it”. Simple as the saying is, its meaning is profound and thought-provoking. Evidently, it is meant to tell us that practice is the most important way to gain real knowledge and therefore we should pay due attention to it.
第二段写法一:Actually, history abounds with examples to prove this saying. Here I can think of no better illustration of the proverb than the experience of Peng Dehuai. As one of the leaders of new China, he definitely objected to the claim that one mu of farmland can yield 5,000 kg of wheat. Through his actual experiment he proved that at most it could produce 1,000 kg of wheat. Another case in point is Galileo, one of the greatest scientists in ancient Europe. It was through his experiment with two iron balls that he found the truth that two objects of the same density but different weights fall at the same speed.
第二段写法二:Actually, history abounds with examples to prove this saying. Here I can think of no better illustration of the proverb than the experience of Thomas Edison. As one of the greatest inventors in human history, he definitely acquired his knowledge from practice. Without hundreds of times of experiments, how could he have successfully found the right material for the wire in the first electric bulb on this planet? Another case in point is Li Shizhen, one of the greatest medical scientists in ancient China. It was through his unremitting practice that he found the nature and use of various herbs and compiled the famous book about herbal medicine.
Bringing what has been discussed into a conclusion, we may say that practice is the source of knowledge. So, one should not blindly believe in books or authorities. What he really has to do is to engage himself in real practice and find more truths. In a word, we should truly understand the profound meaning of the proverb and take the right actions in our life in the future.

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on Albert Einstein’s remark “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious”. You can give one or two examples to illustrate your point of view. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
An instructive remark by Albert Einstein goes that “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious”. Simple as the saying is, its meaning is profound and thought-provoking. Evidently, it is meant to tell us that curiosity is essential in one’s success, or that we should maintain interest in everything that we do not know.
Actually, history abounds with examples to prove this saying. Here I can think of no better illustration of the proverb than the experience of Madame Curie. It was her curiosity in the unknown radiating substance that drove her and her husband to conduct arduous experiments in a shabby laboratory. Finally they successfully discovered the element Polonium and Radium, winning them the Nobel Prize. Another case in point is Isaac Newton. Different from most people, he wondered why the apple did not fly up but fell down. It was this question that led him to the discovery of gravity.
Bringing what has been discussed into a conclusion, we may say that curiosity is truly essential for anyone’s success, especially in the realm of science. So, one should not lose his interest in things and numbly flow with the tide. In a word, we should truly understand the profound meaning of the proverb and take the right actions in our life and study in the future.

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying “If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way”. You can give one or two examples to illustrate your point of view. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
An
instructive saying goes that “If you cannot do
great things, do small things in a great way”. Simple as the
saying is, its meaning is profound and thought-provoking.
Evidently, it is meant to tell us that one does not necessarily
become a great man or women, but he or she can still be successful
and win respect from others by doing common jobs in a perfect
way.
Actually, history abounds with examples to prove this
saying. Taking a look around, we can also find examples too many to
enumerate. Here I can think of no better illustration of the
proverb than such people as taxi
drivers and nurses. It is not uncommon for us to meet a taxi driver
who is warmhearted, humorous and responsible. They keep their cars
clean and tidy, and they tell funny jokes, play sweet music and
softly remind passengers to carry their belongings with them. They
fill our life with sunshine and pleasure. Many nurses do the same.
They perform their duty in a responsible and enthusiastic way,
healing patients both physically and mentally.
Bringing what has been discussed into a conclusion, we may say that one can be great even if he or she is not a celebrity, as long as he or she loves his job and people around him or her. So, we should not complain when we are not famous or very wealthy. What we really have to do is to enjoy our work and life, and bring happiness to people around us.
