英语结果状语从句 1. 引导结果状语从句的从属连词主要的有so that, so…that, such…that等：He studied hard so that he passed the exam. 他学习用功，所以考试通过了。He was so angry that he couldn’t speak. 他气得话都说不出来。注：so…that和such…that中的that有时(尤其在口语中)可省略：) I am so busy I have no time to write a letter. 我很忙，连写信的时间都没有。
There was such a lot of rain (that) we couldn’t go out. 雨那么大，我们没法出去。

 2. so…that与such…that的用法比较从用法上看，so后应接形容词或副词，而such后接名词(参见以上例句)。但有时“so+形容词“so+”后还可接一个名词，且这个名词总是带不定冠词的单数可数名词(不能是复数名词)：正：He is so clever a child that we all like him. 这小孩很聪明，我们都喜欢他。误：They are so clever children that we all like them.此时的so…that结构可与such…that结构转换：It’s such an interesting film that we all want to see it. 这电影很有趣，我们都想看。 It’s so interesting a film that we all want to see it. 这电影很有趣，我们都想看。 注：在much, many, little, few 这四个词前总是用so而不用such：He had so many falls that he was black and blue all over. 他摔了许多跤，结果全身都是伤。
He earns so little money that he can hardly feed his family. 他赚的钱很少几乎不能养家糊口。

A. “so＋形容词（副词）＋that”结构。例如:

有时, “so＋形容词……that”结构也可以用来修饰名词, 但是, 应注意名词的词性和冠词的使用。例如:

He is so short a man that he can't reach the apple on the tree.

She ordered so much food that we couldn't eat it up.

B. “such ＋（不定冠词）＋形容词＋名词＋that”结构。例如:

He had such an excellent lunch at the restaurant that he would like to go there for dinner some day.

They are such bright children that we all like them.

比较下面的中考英语试题:

在掌握so... that与such... that两种结构时, 必须注意以下两点:

一、注意被修饰名词的词性

由于英语中的名词有可数名词与不可数名词之分, 可数名词又有单、复数之别, 因此, 被修饰名词的不同类型会影响上述结构的正确选择。比较下面中考英语试题:

Lucy said she hadn't heard ________ music before. （2001南京）
＊A.such a beautiful piece of
B. a beautiful

C. so beautiful a D. such a wonderful

解析: 此题题干中的名词music是不可数名词, 因此, 不与冠词a连用。因此, 只能构成: such a beautiful piece of music。

二、注意不定冠词a（n）在不同结构中的位置

在“so＋形容词＋a（n）＋名词 ＋that”和“such ＋a（n）＋形容词＋名词＋that”这两种结构中, 都有冠词a（n）, 但是二者的位置是不同的。比较:

It was such an interesting book that I couldn't put it down.

It was so interesting a book that I couldn't put it down.

比较下面中考英语试题:

1. Lots of visitors come to Nanjing because she is ________ city. （2002南京）

A. so a beautiful B. very a beautiful

C. such beautiful a

＊D. quite a beautiful

解析: 此题题干中的名词city是单数可数名词。此题如果选择“so＋形容词＋a（n）＋名词＋that”结构, 应说成: so beautiful a city, 可见, 应排除选项A. so a beautiful（city）; 此题如果选择“such ＋a（n）＋形容词＋名词＋that”结构, 应说成: such a beautiful city, 可见, 选项C. such beautiful a（city）也应排除。显然, 此题只能另辟蹊径使用: D. quite a beautiful（city）。

2. Have you ever seen ________ big panda before? （2000辽宁）

A. a such ＊B. such a

C. so a D. a so

3. We have never seen ________ wonderful film. （2000杭州）

A. so B. such

C. so a ＊D. such a

解析: 上述两题中出现了单数可数名词panda, film, 因此, 应使用“such＋（不定冠词）＋形容词＋名词＋that”结构。上述两题中, 主句之后的that从句被省去, 但是并不影响such（a）... that的基本用法。
