The paparazzi are photographers who follow famous people around, hoping to take interesting or shocking photographs of them that they can sell to a newspaper.

The term originally came from the name of an Italian movie character, Signor Paparazzo. He was a photographer who chased stars, and his last name meant “a buzzing insect.”

 

The paparazzo may not be well-liked.
