Why do we need to design various and diversified activities for learners to practice using newly presented lexical items?

答1：On the one hand, different activities can stimulate students' interest and keep them devoted to the class. On the other hand, different students have different learning styles. They may perform badly in some activities, but perform outstandingly in others. Hence, teachers need to design diversified  activities to improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning.

答2：The first reason is that teaching vocabulary by only one or two methods can be monotonous and Ss won't be that motivated and interested in learning because they can easily get bored.

The second reason is that newly learned words can only be grasped by Ss when they are encountered enough times. And word exposure will be greatly expanded in various activities, which can facilities Ss' learning.

The third reason is that different Ss have different learning needs and they present different styles of learning.Providing them with diversified activities can give them the opportunity to choose the methods that most useful for them.

答3：Because different aspects require different and diversified activities. Like pronunciation, mechanical activities are needed, for we need to remember the correct pronunciation quickly. And spelling activities can be half-control, for applying some games help to remember vocabulary. And creating contexts for using vocabulary in a real-like situation are important and that should be the goal.

答4：Learning vocabulary is not a mechanical and boring things. Different acclivities can help students fully get involved in the lesson , learn and practice new words in different context and situation. In addition, we need to learn the pronunciation, spelling, meaning and usage of new words, and each aspect have different learning objectives and features, so it requires different activities to present and practice so as to realize the objectives.
