序

一个个鬼，向我走来
和我成为无话不谈的朋友
于是，我知道了一个个惊天的秘密
他们之所以成为鬼，却是人杀了他们

鬼悄悄地告诉我，人最擅长的杀人武器
是我们崇高而神圣的爱情
还有权欲、富贵、贪淫和美人
所有的手段，没有任何声音

我知道在这浑沌的人世
不及做一个孤魂野鬼
至少找一块可以歇息的坟地
像鬼一样真诚，那怕是一粒微尘

 

PREFACE

One by one, lots of ghosts came to me

And became friends of mine on confidential terms

Then, I began to learn the shocking secret 

That they became ghosts because they were killed by human beings

 

The ghosts told me that the weapons men most skillfully used were:

The love that we deemed to be the holiest and noblest

The lust for power, wealth, debauchment, and the beauties

And all the tricks, soundless whatsoever

 

I knew that in this chaotic world of ours

Nothing was better than being a lonely ghost

Who could at least find a grave to rest in peace

And be sincere as a ghost, even if it were merely a tiny bit of dust

 

1、秋容

我可以为一个鬼掉眼泪吗？
一个为爱情无限哀怨的女鬼
她飘浮在人的世界里
寻找爱情的门栓

 

她曾经毫不犹豫喝下殉情的毒酒
在布满蜘蛛网的别院里  等待
黄泉路上不见心爱的人到来
谁人可忍这无底的形影孤单

 

她毅然放下手中的油纸伞
最后一次触摸人间的光线
将自己燃烧成一片  飞灰
只留下粉色的梦幻

 

无法忘记风中的妩媚站在山颠
那浅笑轻盈 飞身凌舞不再
只希望有一只手能拉她回来
希望有一只肩膀能让她睡眠

 

1. Qiurong

Could I weep for a ghost?

A woman ghost who was awfully miserable for her love affairs

She was wandering about in the world of human beings

Just to hunt for true love

 

Without a bit of hesitation she drank up the poisonous wine and died for love  

And in the courtyard covered with spiders’ webs, she was waiting in vain

The arrival of her lover in the pathway of the underworld

So lonely was she! And who could tolerate such bottomless loneliness

 

Resolutely she put down her umbrella

And paid a last look at the world

Then she burnt herself into ashes

Leaving over only a pink dream

 

No one could forget her beautiful figure on the mountain peak in the wind

And no more were her feint smile and her graceful dance

How I wish somebody could bring her back to life

And lend her his chest for her to fall asleep

 

2、小谢

月光似琴，夏虫叽叽的吟唱
是什么幻影投射在我的心上
满满的如水一样轻轻的荡漾

 

是一个女鬼的烂漫敲打心房
是一个女鬼的天真推开门窗
昨夜一颦一笑柔情地老天荒

 

早知她是一个精灵般的女郎
一缕孤魂化作成幽兰的芳香
闪烁着一抹艳丽色为爱痴狂

 

她记忆不曾留下过去的感伤
所以能够开心面对明天沧桑
只希望有一天如花儿般绽放

 

2. Little Xie     

The moonlight seemed like a fiddle, and the summer insects were singing

What illusion was that which projected its shadow into my heart?

It flowed softly like gentle ripples

 

It was a female ghost romantically knocking at my heart

It was she that innocently pushed my doors and windows open

Her tender smile last night would stay for ever in my life

 

I knew that she was a maiden like a spirit

Her lonely soul had transformed into a sweet smell of the orchid

Twinkling in bright and beautiful colour crazy for love

 

In her memory there left no regret for the past

That was why she was happily ready to meet tomorrow’s drastic changes

In hope of blooming like a flower one day

 

3、阿宝与孙子楚

我非常佩服孙子楚的眼睛
能将一个风华绝代的美人锁定
在纷纷若狂的人群中，默然痴立
灵魂出壳，随着心爱的女人飞去

 

常常想，爱一个人如何最深
爱又该当如何用心聆听
孙子楚挥刀而断的一根手指
诠释爱情中所有的迷离

 

阿宝的记忆突然停留在昨天
每一个梦醒来又是快乐的开端
孙子楚苦苦守候在避雨亭边
一次又一次点燃阿宝心中的爱恋

 

他们曾为爱死，为爱又生
他们照亮一盏幸福的明灯
因为彼此为对方流泪的人
所以世间有许多美好降临

 

3. Ah Bao and Sun Zichu

I admired Sun Zichu very much

Who could recognize a maiden of matchless beauty at first sight

And in the chaotic crowd he stood silently, dumbstruck

As if his soul had left him and flied away with the girl he loved

 

It often occurred to me how profound one should love one’s beloved

And once in love, how should one carefully listen to Sun Zichu

Who cut off a finger of his with a knife

For an explanation of all the puzzles in love

 

 

The memory of Ah Bao suddenly stopped short yesterday

Everything began again pleasantly after each dream

Sun Zichu awaited patiently by the pavilion

Time and time again agitated by his love for Ah Bao

 

They lived for love and died for love

And so they lighted a bright lamp of happiness

As they ever wept for the other when alive.

The world saw so much good in human beings

 

4、小翠

仿佛是遥远的地方传来一声叹息
从黑夜深处窜出一只白色的狐狸
青灯幽幽的光印出她妖艳和美丽
同时一个读书的影子也装进心里

 

也许只有善良才够打动妖怪的心
即便是对一个傻子也能给予真情
明明知道总有一天人世殊途别离
有谁能明白欢乐背后痛苦的意义

 

也许美好的爱情都只是一片回忆
所以每一个故事的结局不着痕迹
想起那不变的笑颜依然次第闪现
一串一串仿佛糖葫芦酸酸的甜蜜

 

4. Little Cui

It seemed as if it were a sigh from a remote place

Out rushed a white female fox in the dead of night

In the dim light she appeared so bewitching and beautiful

And in her heart she was in love with a scholar

 

Perhaps only goodness could move a ghost

Who could even fell in love with an idiot

Fully aware of an eventual separation from this world to the nether world

But who could understand the meaning of the pain behind happiness

 

Perhaps true love was merely something to remember  

And so all stories would end in nothing

Yet when you remembered the frequently flashing smiling face

Coming to your heart was the sour sweetness like the sugared hawthorns

 

5、聂小倩

或是每一个妖怪都是多情的精灵
只要有一根真情编织的稻草闪映
就能够让一个连心都没有的女鬼
为了爱情如一只飞蛾向火里去追

 

为什么世间会有这样的爱情诅咒
一旦爱上心上的人就会神形消无
宁采臣一滴可以净化妖毒的药血
也无法阻隔兰若寺一场生死离别

 

当白衣飘飘的笑靥已经不再回来
当温柔的话语在黑夜里悄悄淹埋
只剩孤独的相思留在破败的墙外
又一次开始等待一只蝴蝶的花开

 

5. Nie xiaoqian

Could it be that each goblin was an emotional spirit

And a straw of sincere love would seduce a female ghost without a heart

She went all out to seek love

As mad as a flying moth throwing itself into the fire

 

Why in the world should there be an oath of love as such

When in love , a girl would rather give up her life

Ning Caicheng’s medical blood was capable of purifying the devil’s poison

Yet it failed to avoid his fatal separation in Lanruo Temple

 

When the smiling face of the girl in white cloak had vanished

And when the tender words was no longer heard in the night

What was left outside the collapsed wall was only the lonely lovesickness

Once again waiting for the transformation into butterflies

 

6、梅三娘

梅三娘的伪装是一张美丽的人皮，
如同人们在化妆舞会上戴的面具，
因为曾经遭受过一段不堪的侮辱，
只得悄悄躲藏在梅花盛开的小屋。

 

如花朵的生命在烈火里完成玉殒，
我好像听见阴森的白骨痛哭失声，
为何没人知道比鬼更可怕的是人？
甜言蜜语再次亲吻了女鬼的红唇。

 

人间居然有人可以轻意欺骗鬼魂，
如何想象比地狱里还要黑暗的人，
一次一次踩在女人的尸身上高升，
难道爱情是一扇推开名利的大门?

 

6. Mei Sanniang

Mei Sanniang wore a beautiful human skin

Just like people wore a mask in a masked ball

Because she had suffered an intolerable insult

She had to hide herself in the blooming plum cottage

 

The flowery life died in the burning flame

And I seemed to have heard of the bitter cry of the gloomy white bones

Why people failed to realize that human beings were horrible than ghosts?

Sweet words once again kissed the red lips of the female ghost

 

It was incredible how a human being could cheat a ghost at will in this world

How a human being could be worst than a ghost

He sought promotion again and again by treading on women’s corpses

Could love be a gate leading to fame and wealth?

 

7、陆判

为何要给一个傻子一颗聪慧的心？
难道君不见纷纷扰扰不平的红尘，
一切的明争暗斗都不是傻子所为，
聪明的人才会为权贵无情的算计。

 

陆判的打赌不是一次无聊的游戏，
因为人间的每一天都在上演冤屈，
以为改变愚蠢天地就会充满正义，
谁知道阴差阳错酿成了一幕悲剧。

 

为何判官手中的生死簿不能记叙，
黑白无常牵引的每一个罪恶灵魂。
为何那一只朱红的铁笔不能勾去，
人间的邪恶、贪婪及无尽的物欲。

 

7. Judge Lu

Why give a fool an intelligent heart?

You did not see that this world of ours was chaotic enough?

All the overt or covert strife was not done by the fools

Only the cunning people would mercilessly work to be bigwigs

 

The bet of Judge Lu was not a bored pastime

Because injustice prevailed in the world every day

He thought that justice would change the foolish world

But he was not aware that by mistake he brewed a tragedy

 

Why Judge Lu failed to write down each criminal soul in his Life-and-death Book

Who had been caught by the White and Black nether bailiffs?

Why that red iron pen of his failed to write off

The evil, aversion, and endless desire for wealth in the world?
