At 2 o’clock on August 1^st, 1927, the uprising troops were making fierce attacks at the enemy troops garrisoned in Nanchang as preplanned under the leadship of the Front Committee headed by Zhou Enlai, the Secretary and command of He Long, Ye Ting, Liu Bocheng, ect. , and after 4 houres of fiery fighting, they won the battle.

Expedition Down South to Guangdong Province

As decided by the CPC Central Committee before the uprising, the uprising Force withdrew from Nanchang on August 3, 1927 before marching to Guangdong Province by way of Lin chuan, Yihuang and Guangchang and intending to occupy a seaport, and, with the help of international assistance, established a revolutionary base, and then started a second Northern Expedition. The uprising troops did achieve some major victories in the process of going southward, and yet suffered grave setbacks as they were fighting at heavy odds against the enemy.
