That is a known fact to everyone, I guess... But I just don't
know why since that's the case and so so clear to me, it's still
difficult sometimes to get off my ass and start working. Maybe
it's because I'm at home most of the time, and most of my work,
be it writing stories or writing songs, is done alone.
To me, the difference between a professional writer and an
amateur is whether you can complete a story. Everyone can start
writing something, but only few can finish. Today I can call
myself a writer in Chinese, but I have so many English stories
that are just lying around, in my head, on my computer, in my
notebook, waiting to be finished, or at least taken to Chapter 2.
When will I be able to finish a story in English?
My friend, the well-known Chinese writer Yan Geling, has just
published her first English novel, The Banquet Bug. My hat off to
her. She's capable of being prolific in her Chinese work and
writing in her second language at the same time. That's truly
exceptional.
Well, back to work...
