11.11 is a famous day in australian and european history - it is Armistice Day (Rememberance Day) It was the day World War 1 finishes 11 Nov 1918. The treaty was signed at 11am on the 11 of the 11 :-) So on this day every year at 11am everything stops for 1 minute.

Turn your radio on or tv just before 11am and wait. TV and radio will even stop.

我们只记得11月11日是光棍节，却忘记了今天同样是铭记日，纪念第一次世界大战休战。本来想在11点以前赶到战争纪念馆的，我磨磨蹭蹭，洗完，把午饭吃好就10点多了，于是在电视上看了仪式。
