引导的两种从句

 

一、whichever引导的两类从句

1. 引导名词性从句

      用于引导名词性从句，相当于any…that，其意为“无论哪个”“随便哪个”。如：

• You can pick whichever one you like. 你喜欢哪个就挑哪个。
• Whichever of them gains the most points wins. 他们中哪一个得分最多，哪一个就赢。
• Whichever of us gets home first starts cooking. 我们当中不管谁先到家，就开始做饭。

      比较同义句：

Whichever team gains the most points wins.

=Any team that gains the most points wins. 哪个队得分最多，哪个队就赢。

2. 引导让步状语从句

    用于引导让步状语从句时，相当于no matter which，其意为“无论哪个”“不管哪个”。如：

• Whichever you choose, the others will be angry with you. 无论你选哪个，其余的人都会生气的。
• Whichever you buy, there is a six-month guarantee. 不管买哪个都有6个月的保用期。
• You get the same result, whichever way you do it. 不管你用哪种方法做，结果都一样。

     比较同义句：

It takes three hours, whichever route you take.

=It takes three hours, no matter which route you take. 不论走哪条路都要3小时。

 

二、whatever引导的两类从句

 

1. 引导名词性从句

        用于引导名词性从句（主要是引导主语从句和宾语从句），其意相当于anything that或everything that。如：

• Whatever she did was right. 她做的一切都是对的。
• He does whatever she asks him to do. 她要他做什么，他就做什么。
• I will just say whatever comes into my mind. 我想到什么就说什么。

 

2. 引导让步状语从句

          用于引导让步状语从句，其意相当于no matter what。如：

• Whatever happens, don’t forget to write. 无论怎样别忘了写信。
• Whatever you say, I won’t believe you. 不管你说什么，我决不相信你的话。

        引导让步状语从句时，从句谓语有时可以用“may+动词原形”代替一般现在时。如：

• Keep calm, whatever happens [may happen]. 无论发生什么事都要保持冷静。
• Whatever reasons he gives [may give], they can only be excuses. 无论他提出什么理由，那只可能是借口。

          注意：

1. 有时还可省略状语从句中的动词be。如：

He'll come whatever the weather (is). 无论天气如何，他都会来。

The building must be saved, whatever the cost (is). 一定要挽救这座建筑，不管花多大代价。

2. 有时whatever用作形容词，在其后跟一个被修饰的名词。如：

• I am willing to pay whatever price you ask. 不管你要价多少，我都愿意付。
• Take whatever magazines you want to read. 任何你想看的杂志都可以取阅。

 

三、whoever引导的两类从句

1. 引导名词性从句

         用于引导名词性从句（主要是引导主语从句和宾语从句），相当于anyone who或everyone who，意为“……的那个人”“任何……的人”。如：

• Whoever breaks this law deserves a fine. 违反本法者应予以罚款。
• I'll take whoever wants to go. 谁想去我就带谁去。
• Give it to whoever you see in the meeting-room. 你在会议室里看见谁就把它给谁。

 

2. 引导让步状语从句

      用于引导让步状语从句，相当于no matter who，其意为“不论什么人”“不论是谁”。如：

• Whoever you ask, the answer is always the same. 不管你问谁，答案都一样。
• I won't open the door, whoever you are. 不管你是谁，我都不会开门。

       引导让步状语从句时，从句谓语有时可以用“may+动词原形”代替一般现在时。如：

• Whoever says [may say] so, it is wrong. 不管谁这样说，那都是错的。

          注意：

whoever的宾格形式在现代英语中仍然是whoever，通常不用whomever。如：

• Tell whoever you like—it makes no difference to me. 你愿意告诉谁就告诉谁——对我来说都无所谓。

四、whenever引导的两类状语从句

 

        引导让步状语从句

        引导让步状语从句，表示“无论何时”，相当于 at whatever time, no matter when等。如：

• Whenever I see him, he's reading. 我无论什么时候看到他，他都在看书。
• Whenever I go to London I try to see Vieky. 我什么时候去伦敦，都设法去看看维基。
• Whenever you come, you are welcome. 你什么时候来，我们都欢迎。

 

        引导时间状语从句

        引导时间状语从句，表示“每当”“一……就”，与when用法相似，但语气更强。如：

• The roof leaks whenever it rains. 这屋顶一下雨就漏。
• I go to the theatre whenever I get the chance. 一有机会我就去看戏。
• Whenever I mention playing football, he says he's too busy. 我一跟他提踢足球的事, 他就说太忙。

       从句主语和谓语有时可以有所省略。如：

• Whenever (it is) possible, he goes to see her. 只要有可能，他就去看她。
• Robbie had arranged for this man to come whenever needed. 罗比安排好，随时需要这人就可以来。
  

五、wherever引导的两类状语从句

 

      引导地点状语从句

 

      引导地点状语从句，表示“在……的任何（所有）地方”，与where, anywhere, everywhere 用法相似。如：

• You can sit wherever you like. 你喜欢坐哪儿都可以。
• You can't park wherever [where, anywhere] you like these days. 如今你可不能随便在哪儿停车。

       引导让步状语从句

       引导让步状语从句，表示“不管在（到）哪里”，相当于no matter where。如：

Wherever he goes, I'll go. 不管他去哪里，我也去。

Wherever you find high wages, you will generally find high prices. 哪里有高工资，哪里一般就有高物价。

You'll be recognized by others wherever you go, which is the price you pay for being famous. 不管你走到哪里，都会被人认出来,这就是你出名所付出的代价。

       从句谓语有时可以用“may+动词原形”代替一般现在时。如：

• I'll find him, wherever he is [may be]. 无论他在哪里，我都要找到他。

下句中的

wherever possible 与 whenever possible 同义

Wherever possible the jobs are given to local people. 只要有可能就把工作提供给当地人。
