newly 与new 的区别

一、基本上new是形容词，newly是副词，二者不同。

但new除作形容词外，在一些特定的词组里也可用作副词，(=newly) [主要与过去分词构成复合词]新, 新近地, 重新地

虽然在近代英语中，new作副词的用法已废去，但在复合形容词中，它常与过去分词连用，修饰后面的名词，此时，它很易和newly混淆。

一般说来，new用在一些惯用特定的复合形容词中。例如：

new-born child、new-laid eggs、new-baked bread、new-found pride、new-fallen leaves、new-fangled gadgets、new-fashioned clothes…。

二、newly是副词adv.(表示时间时,强调)最近, 新近；(表示频率时，强调)重新, 再度；(表示方式, 状态)用新的方式[法]

1. newly industrialized nations 新近工业化的国家
2.  The walls are newly painted.墙重新粉刷过。
3.  a newly completed building一座新建的楼房
4. a newly married couple新婚的一对
5. a newly repeated slander旧调重弹的诽谤

其他可自由加上表示“新的”形容词就用newly，例如：newly-appointed president，newly-married couple，newly-furnished rooms，newly-invented machines，newly issued stamps，newly published books等。

从以下表达发放也可见new和newly的涵义和不同的用法：new-baked bread=the bread that is newly baked
new-mown grass=the grass that has been newly mown
　　new-laid eggs=the eggs that are newly laid

下面的例句可以说明new-和newly-的不同使用场合：

They named the new-born child, David．他们为初生婴儿取名大卫。

Teenagers like new-fashioned gadgets．年轻人喜欢新款玩意。
