功武村位于惠州龙门县辖下的沙迳镇，毗邻增城。建村于明朝洪武元年(1368年)。龙门廖氏来自江西，乃广东廖氏之始，这一脉廖氏世代为官，其中四世祖廖金凤于南宋庆元元年(公元1195年)考上进士，初为增城县令，后从戎，官至太尉，逝后葬在龙门县的丫髻山，此后子孙继往开来，把为官的传统一代代传承下去。

廖氏宗祠，它始建于明，清代易地重修，为四进院落布局，坐东南向西北，建筑宽近20米，进深达52.3米，正门前有一个广场。内主要建筑，两侧有封火山墙。

头进的门内正中设一木屏风，梁柱为昆甸木，间刻有以“八仙闹海”、“穆桂英挂帅”等神话传奇故事为内容的浮雕，神形兼备。
