A group
of volunteers from US came to JFK hospital two weeks ago,They came
from Waterbury hospital,Connecticut state,including 3 general
surgeons(Dr.Knight,Dr.Peters,Dr.Nunoo).They worked at JFK for
2weeks,did so many operations for patients. It was very important
and honorable that they payed all fees for patients.
They worked very hard from
8am to 5pm every day. They brought many surgical materials from
US,including various kinds of sutures,tapes,dressings,even
staplers. What I interested was a kind of absorbable dressing which
could be used for infectious wound. They did many operations every
day,such as inquinal hernia,epigastric
hernia,decommission,lipoma,breast cancer,appendicitis.Dr.Kight is
an experienced general surgeon,he completed a rectal anastomosis
with stapler. And he did some pediatric operations such as inguinal
hernia,umbilical hernia.During these operations,he wore a pair of
loupes which I was interested.
Dr.Kight told me that most
surgeons in US have loupes to help them during operaions, especially
pediatric and plastic surgeons. He is the president of Loupes Around
The World. He establish this foundation in 2007. The objective of
the foundation is to provide loupes to surgeons in developing
countries who do not have the means to obtain them. They also
developed a recycling program ("Recoup The Loupes") through which
surgeons are able to donate their old loupes, and the parts are
then used to create new loupes for their designated surgeons at a
significantly reduced cost.
Dr.Nunoo is an US doctor
from Ghana. He made a lecture about burning one morning. He told me
someone used papaya to treat burns.Dr.Nunoo has a smart daughter.I
added him as friend in Facebook.
Thank you,my friends,I’ll
miss you.We’ll communicate in Facebook.
