让那些被他们的星辰宠爱的人们，
夸说其公开的荣耀和得意的称号，
而我，被命运阻拦无法有此胜利，
在不被注目的快乐中我最以为傲。

伟大王子的红人们舒展娇好的叶，

但像在太阳巨眼下的那棵金盏草，
他们的骄傲与自身一同埋入地下
因为皱眉间他们便在荣耀中死掉。

那个痛苦的战士因为战斗而闻名，
在一千次胜利之后一旦功败垂成，
他将被从荣名册中抹去不留迹痕，
并因他失败，一切都被忘得干净：

Of public honour and proud titles boast,
