Please listen to your child read the book.

Make it an enjoyable experience by prasing them for good reading.

Encourage them to read fluently.

If your child comes to a word they don't know,say You try it.

Allow them time to make an attempt.

If they get the word right,praise them.

If they get the word wrong,give them a clue.

If they still get the word wrong,

tell them the word and encourage them to keep reading.

If your child makes a mistake,

give them time to put the word right themselves.

If they don't, allow them to finish the sentence,

then say You made a mistake.Try reading that sentence again.

Give them a cle or tell them if you need to.

Praise them for fixing their mistake.

If possible,have your child reread the book to another person.

The more reading they do,the better they will become.
