　　法新社援引生还者埃利奥特?斯托恩的话说，当飞机即将降落时突然加快速度飞起来，仿佛飞行员知道可能出问题似的。“后来机尾刚刚撞到地面时，飞机又飞了起来，所有人的头部都撞向了天花板。随后感觉像在漂移，在过了300码后停了下来，这时大火开始燃烧。”

　　斯托恩说，他之所以能安全逃生是因为坐在飞机中部，但不少空乘人员都在飞机尾部，可能遭受重创。“后来他们都掉了出来这是我看到的最可怕的景象之一。”他说。

　　另一名自称是生还者的人在社交网站上发布了飞机坠毁时的视频和照片。他说，消防和救援人员正在向失事地点涌去，“自从9.11后没有在感受到这样的事了，我正在帮助人们保持冷静。”他说。

　　地面上的目击者也讲述了飞机坠毁时的情景。“我们看见飞机撞向地面，尾部几乎是立刻断掉了。看起来像是飞机掉到了地上。”目击者说，“没有发生爆炸，但肯定着火了，因为有大量浓烟冒出。”

　　此外有目击者称，飞机在降落时距离地面过近，且有照片和视频显示，飞机的碎片从海堤开始延续至坠毁地点，约有数百英尺长。

　　在被问及是否飞机坠毁是否因驾驶员操作失误时，美国国家运输安全委员会主席德布拉?赫斯曼回应称，目前所有的原因都有可能，当局将在作出结论前收集所有的信息。

　　赫斯曼说，她将亲自带领调查小组，前往旧金山调查韩国亚洲航空公司214航班失事事件。韩国方面的人员也将参与调查。
