为迎接中国农历新年 － 牛年的到来，美国邮政总局8日在开始，6000万枚面值42美分的生肖邮票将在全美发售，美国邮政总局并于当日在纽约举行“牛年”生肖邮票首发式。
牛年的大年初一，在纽约华埠鞭炮迎农历新年的活动上，俺有幸见到了牛票的设计者－麦锦鸿先生。当天，纽约邮政局在现场特设移动车，为侨胞提供牛年生肖 票和首日封，买者十分踊跃。尽管昨日寒风凛冽，天气异常寒冷，麦先生亲临现场为广大侨胞签名，并与邮迷拍照留念。

设计者麦锦鸿先生十岁时随父母自香港移民到美国，在纽约华埠成长，他从小爱好绘画，并遇到良师指导和鼓励，如今已从事插图设计工作二十多年。麦锦鸿说，自己在纽约华埠成长的经历为他的艺术设计生涯提供不少灵感。
