新泽西佩特森市离纽约市只有30分钟的车程，那里有一个被当地人称为Great Waterfall 的瀑布，号称美东第二大瀑布。这里曾是美国原住民的猎场，历史悠久。佩特森瀑布区是他们的神地，一般人不可轻易入内。瀑布旁还曾流传着一段极其哀怨感人的印地安族的爱情传说......
　　说到佩特森市，不得不提到美国开国先贤－翰弥尔顿先生，他在此建立了美国第一座水力发电站，因此佩特森市成为当时火车、枪支、飞机引擎和潜水艇研发重镇。翰弥尔顿先生还担任过美国首任财政部长，纽约华尔街能成为今日的国际金融中心，他是功不可没。
