Lovely well written about change of season in NYC, so true about large umbrella,

never know how to position it, sometime I hold it straight up or lay across my lap

 if train not crowed. Make loud sound when you drop it as it hit floor. Umbrella with heavy

duty construction can help, but wind can break it just as easy.

Do you mean umbrella with large thick wood handle does help in heavy rain

but when windy it can be broken too?

So lovely the words you use to describe feeling you get from damp rain. When getting 

soaked through you just can think about getting dry before anything else. You have nice

 way of putting you thought on your blog.

Yes, sure will hold up longer you have to know how to hold it if wind catches it 

most heavy umbrella can be turned inside out then turn back,  have to push back 

again wind, I like strong one, just must hold onto all the time.
