I think this would not be a good idea. This idea would eliminate summer vacation, which people go on vacation with their families. It would not make sense for the kids to go to school and the adults to stay at home to stay with their kids, skipping the little vacation period they’re allowed.

Another problem would be the cost and power usage. Air conditioning, food/drink, electricity, heating, and water costs would be going up in exchange for more days in school. The money could be better spent at getting upgrades on school supplies and books, which would balance out for the extra school days. The energy to power the schools would also go up; summer is a very large power-draining month. With all the air conditioners, fans, and other cooling systems going on overdrive it could be bad for the city by crating blackouts.

The year-round schedule could help students learn more. It could improve their grades and it will allow students to learn more. At the cost of their social life. Usually summer vacation is also used to catch up with old friends, but if students spend all their time at school doing projects and homework, the only social life the students will have will be with friends in school.

School is also not the only place you learn. You learn from your friends, you learn from visiting different places, and other places/sources. A year round schedule is not needed to learn as you learn every day of your life.
