I started it from seeds 6
weeks ago. But there was nothing come out. Luckily, My Italian
neighbor gave me the seedlings two weeks ago and told me to place
them in a site receiving full sun. I Buried tomato
plants deeper than they came in the pot (as my neighbor told me to
do so), all the way up to a few top leaves.
Tomatoes are able to develop roots all along their stems.
I simply dig a shallow tunnel and lay the plant
sideways.
So far,
my tomato plants are now
at 1 foot, but my neighbor grows
his much better than I did. Their tomato plants
are now at 3 feet, further more, I saw green
tomatoes everywhere on his site. It seems to me that my plants are
late bloomers, but I would
still like to
make up for it. Anyway, my tomato plants are growing, I am going to
pinch and remove suckers that develop in the crotch joint of two
branches. They won’t bear fruit and will take energy away from
the rest of the plant. My goal in growing tomatoes is fruit, not
leaves.
I will still water them
deeply and regularly while the plants are developing. Will my
tomato plants straighten up and grow toward the sun?
You
guess!
