国际翻译工作者联合会

国际翻译工作者联合会[简称国际译联，FIT(Federation Internationale des Trducteures]是法国等六个欧洲国家翻译协会在1953年发起，1954年正式成立的。至1996年为止，国际译联已发展成拥有99个团体会员(其中正式会员75个，联系会员24个〉的大型国际组织。国际译联非政府性的A级组织，与联合国教科文组织享有同等的待遇。1987年8月在国际译联第十一届世界大会上，中国翻译工作者协会〈简称中国译协〉被国际译联吸收为正式会员。国际译联下设国际译联世界大会、国际译联理事会以及国际译联各种所属委员会。

1）国际译联世界大会
国际译联从1954年成立起到现在己举行过十五届世界大会。国际译联世界大会每三年举行一次。1987年8月，中国译协第一组团参加在荷兰玛恃斯里赫特祸于的第十一届世界大会(在这次大会上中国译协被吸收为正式会员)。1990年8月，十二届世界大会在南斯拉夫贝尔格莱德举行。1993年8月，第十三届世界大会在英国布莱顿举行。1996年2月，第十四届世界大会在澳大利亚墨尔本举行。中国代表团团长林戊荪在这次会议上当选为国际译联理事兼发展中国家委员会主席。国际译联第十五届世界大会于1999年8月6日至13日在比利时首都布鲁塞尔附近的大学城蒙斯举行。

2）国际译联理事会
国际译联世界大会通常分两个阶段进行。第一阶段举行法定会议，即国际译联的工作会议，限定由团体会员的正式代表参加。法定会议的议题多属程序性议题，如修改译联章程，吸收新会员，换届选举理事会，决定下届世界大会举办城市等。在法定会议上选举产生国际译联新一届理事会。第二阶段举行公开会议。公开会议分若干小组进行，即文学翻译、科技翻译、口译、翻译标准及地区性语言翻译等。

3）国际译联所属委员会(1996-1999)
BABEL编辑委员会、版权委员会、发展中国家委员会、国际译联第15届世界大会组织委员会、法规委员会、翻译史委员会、翻译文献目录委员会、口译委员会、社区翻译委员会、职业规则委员会、法律事务翻译委员会、文学翻译委员会、新闻翻译委员会、资料委员会、北美地区中心委员会、科学技术翻译委员会、术语和文献委员会、小语种翻译委员会、诗歌翻译委员会、翻译评奖委员会、翻译理论委员会、翻译培训和资格认定委员会、欧洲地区中心指导委员会。


国际会议口译员协会（AIIC）

　　国际会议口译员协会（International　Association　of　Conference　Interpreters，简称AIIC），是会议口译这一专门职业惟一的全球性专业协会，AIIC的会员身份被广泛认为是会议口译员的最高专业认证。目前，全球AIIC传译人数合计不过2600多名会员。 

　　AIIC is the international professional association that represents conference interpreters and sets standards for the practice of the profession.

　　Setting standards means working together with international and national technical bodies, such as the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), involved in building conference venues, interpretation booths and the complex sound equipment required for simultaneous reception and transmission of a single speech in several languages. AIIC collaborates with such bodies, and with builders of conference centres, to ways to create a working environment that will ensure the highest standards for the benefit of all. 

　　Conference interpretation is a service whose quality depends not only on the qualifications of interpreters, but also on the physical, psychological and economic conditions under which they work. 

　　Establishing the working conditions needed to ensure quality of service is just one of the ways AIIC furthers the interests of conference interpreters, one of the goals consecrated in the association's charter. 

　　It AIIC also sets standards for interpretation schools so that those whom they train meet the stringent requirements of the profession. Furthermore, it introduces and explains the profession to clients, governments and intergovernmental organisations helping them to provide the technical and organisational means interpreters need to perform to the best of their ability. 

　　The interests of interpreters, both members and non-members of AIIC, are further served by research on the practice of interpretation, linguistics and use of languages. The health of interpreters is constantly faced with work-related stress and helping to minimise that stress by procuring the best possible working conditions is one of AIIC's highest priorities.

　　Promoting the interests of conference interpreters also means negotiating conditions of work and remuneration with major employers, such as the European Union and the United Nations. Because of its strength and representativity, AIIC has been the sole partner for interpreters in negotiations with major employers leading to agreements governing the conditions of work for all interpreters. The physical working conditions agreed upon in actual fact serve as international standards largely accepted throughout the world. 

　　Another important aspect of promoting the profession of conference interpretation involves getting the public at large and users to understand what it is and how it works. That is what AIIC has been doing for years. This Web publication - COMMUNICATE, the AIIC Webzine - aims to further our goal of making an ever-larger audience aware of our profession and of the activities of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC).

　　中国翻译协会（原中国翻译工作者协会），简称中国译协，系翻译学术团体，成立于1982年。中国译协实行会员制，现有团体会员54个，遍布全国各省市自治区。该会下设社会科学、文学艺术、科学技术、少数民族语文、军事科学、翻译教学与翻译理论、中译外等翻译学术委员会，云集了活跃在全国各行各业的优秀翻译人才。

　　该会负责组织各类与翻译有关的学术讨论会、报告会和经验交流会，提供语言培训和翻译咨询等服务。中国译协还同国外一些翻译家组织建立了友好关系，于1987年正式加入国际翻译家联合会(FIT，国际译联)。中国译协愿与各国语言翻译界紧密合作，开展语言文化和翻译学术交流活动。

　　中国译协办有会刊《中国翻译》，其宗旨是：开展译学理论研究，交流翻译经验，报道国内外译界思潮和动态。该刊为双月刊，在国内外公开发行，深受翻译界人士的欢迎。


香港翻译学会
Hong Kong Translation Society

Incorporated in October 1971, the Hong Kong Translation Society is a non-profit making professional body with the object to enhance the standard and professionalism of translation (both oral and written) in Hong Kong. It became a registered charitable organization with the Hong Kong Government in 1991 on the grounds of education promotion. It has become a member association of the Translators Association of China since 1986 and of the Federation Internationale des Traducteurs since 1988. The Society celebrated its 20th anniversary in 1991, when a spectacular piano recital by Fou Ts'ong, world renowned master pianist of Chinese origin. This gave rise to the institution of a HK$400,000 "Memorial Fund" - in dedication to modern Chinese translation guru Fou Lai - further consolidating its support to translation activities in Hong Kong.


欧洲翻译研究协会 (EST)
European Society for Translation Studies

EST was founded in September 1992 on the occasion of the Translation Studies Congress in Vienna as a network for stimulating and coordinating research in translation and interpreting forum for the exchange and dissemination of new ideas and insights in Translation Studies center for information and know-how on issues of quality and training in translation and interpreting platform for the promotion of Translation Studies as an academic discipline.

EST publishes the EST Newsletter twice a year and an annual Directory of Members with address information and research specializations. EST organizes a Translation Studies Congress every three years. EST also offers international contacts to assist doctoral research and promotes cooperative research within thematic Working Groups.

EST has over 280 registered members from 35 countries all over the world. As a democratically organized Society，EST lives by the active participation of its members. Its activities are coordinated by an Executive Board which is elected every three years by the General Meeting.


欧洲译协联盟(EUATC)
European Union of Associations of Translation Companies

The European Union of Associations of Translation Companies was founded in Italy in September 1994 and its current members are United Kingdom, Italy, France, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Holland, Belgium, Finland, Norway and Spain. Portugal will soon become member of the EUATC. 

The EUATC is the only organisation which represents Translation Companies across Europe. Founded in 1994, its membership comprises national associations of translation companies from many European countries. 

Each member association nominates two representatives to attend the meetings of the EUATC. The office of President is held for a period of two years in rotation among the members. 

The organisation provides the only forum for translation companies to speak with a united voice on issues affecting the industry. 

Meetings take place at least twice a year to ensure that decisions can be implemented with speed and efficiency. 

It is recognised by the European Commission and is accredited under the aegis of Directorate General XIII to the European Translation Platform where it plays a leading role.


英国译协(ITI)

　　The ITI's offices are located on City Road (A501) in Islington, north London. 

The Institute of Translation and Interpreting was founded in 1986 as the only independent professional association of practising translators and interpreters in the United Kingdom. It is now one of the primary sources of information on these services to government, industry, the media and the general public.

With its aim of promoting the highest standards in the profession, ITI serves as a meeting place for all those who understand the importance of translation and interpreting to the economy and society, particularly with the expansion of a single European market of over forty languages and the growth of worldwide communications.

ITI offers guidance to those entering the profession and advice not only to those who offer language services but also to their customers.
