A 1 Million Yuan RMB donation from Sodexo to the Chinese Red Cross Foundation for the Wenchuan earthquake-stricken area

At 14:28 on May 12, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 heavily struck Wenchuan County in Sichuan province. The severity of the earthquake has affected many regions in China and resulted in a huge number of human casualties as well as significant economic loss. Upon learning news of the May 12 catastrophe, Sodexo CEO, Mr. Michel Landel, immediately contacted Sodexo China to ask whether any of Sodexo’s employees or their families or Sodexo clients in China had been affected by the earthquake. Company employees throughout the world working in the over 80 countries where Sodexo operates join in expressing our deepest sympathies for the people of China who have suffered loss from this disaster. Sodexo is actively participating in the urgent response to provide disaster aid for the Wenchuan earthquake-stricken area, including the donation of 1 Million Yuan RMB to the Chinese Red Cross Foundation as financial relief for the local affected population.
