Barack Obama 竞选美国总统获胜的第二天，我接到了我在美国的同学Patty Rangle 发来的邮件。

         Patty是我在学校最好的朋友、官方身份是学生会主席。在我初到美国时，她第一个带我了解了美国人的生活、地域文化并介绍我认识更多的朋友，让我很快忘记了初到异乡的孤独。她独特：美丽、性感又不失干练，更重要的是她拥抱不同文化。有一天Patty带我去吃墨西哥餐，突然用西班牙语和服务员交谈，我当时大赞她西班牙语说的好！ 那天，她告诉我她是墨西哥人。我愣住了，因为她说流利的英文并且是白人。她说她是White Mexican（白墨）很小就和家人移民到了美国在美国长大所以没有口音。她说她很骄傲自己是墨西哥人，因为这是一个有着古老文化、善良热情的民族。她同时也骄傲自己是美国人，因为美国不属于某一个族裔而是属于所有拥有梦想并且用勤奋实现梦想的人。那一天，我们聊到餐厅打烊。          在Patty的信中，她希望我把她的信翻译成中文转发给我所有的中国朋友。 读着她的信，我仿佛看到她激动的、胜利的笑容，千万美国人的欢呼。我答应她把她的声音传递给更多的中国人。希望大家也可以把这封信转给更多的人。（中文见下）

Dear Friends,

Today we join you again as Citizens of the World! The entire planet celebrates with us and I cannot help but to remember the words of Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.:

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today!..."

Please know that the majority of the people in our country did not support the decisions and mistakes that George Bush made. However, we have now proved that the people DO have a voice and that together we can make a difference.

请明白，我们国家的大部分人都是不支持布什所做的决定和所犯下的过错的，无论如何，我们现在要证明人民的确有发表言论的权利，团结在一起我们可以改变一切。
