Icewine dream tasting: German or Canadian?

I can’t help laughing to myself as I write this one, the 80th article in this blog, since it could not have been more special and laughable.

I anxiously woke up 3 am today from a nice dream of wine tasting…Why did I want to wake up quickly from a nice dream of good wine for free?! It is because I have acquired the syndrome of “tasting note-taking anxiety”. Sadly, I still failed to recall most of the vivid details in the dream. Only the following fragments of this dream tasting have survived:

A friend brought along a bottle of “German Riesling”, so I was told. I did not see the label though. Delicate nose of honey. Maple syrup, almond and honey on the palate – rich but in no way heavy, thanks to the uplifting acidity…

As I woke up to take down these notes, “maple syrup, almond” puzzled me. Are these the normal elements of German Riesling?! I thought it’s more like Canadian Icewine made from Vidal, though I have not yet encountered any Canadian Vidal Icewine with enough acidity to thrill me, like this dreamed one…

In the end, I laughed at myself – why bother to question the ‘logic’ of dream, or, the lack of it? Just set the imagination free.

So I created this column of ‘The Wine Dreams’. I seriously doubt that this column could have any regular post, but I do pray that I could have more wines in my dreams!

My buddies, if you have any experience of wine dreams, please share with me! Cheers
