来自天堂的歌手Eva Cassidy

    Eva Cassidy 以她那全球一致公认的心灵歌声和短暂的人生给我们留下了这位来自天堂的歌手带来的天籁之音,同时也给我们留下了最凄美的思念和感动。

    1963年2月2日，Eva Cassidy出生于美国马里兰州。在她的生活里充满著艺术与音乐，而民歌与爵士是他们家族最热爱的音乐类型。在Eva Cassidy的音乐当中，元素从民谣、乡村、爵士、到流行与摇滚都有。虽然Eva Cassidy 因为性格内向到了几乎是一种麦克风恐惧症的情形，迫使让她选择绘画为其志向〔Eva Cassidy的绘画作品是她的另一项杰作〕。不过，总算在1996年出了她的第一张专辑《Live At Blues Alley / 後街蓝调》，这是一张现场演唱的专辑，收录当时Cassidy在“Blue Alley”这家俱乐部实况演出的作品，虽然她不是很满意自己的表现，但是这张专辑在华府一带得到了很大的回响。

    正当大家欢欣鼓舞认为Cassidy的音乐被肯定之时，Eva Cassidy却遭受病魔的攻击。其实在之前Cassidy就因为在医院检查出她在颈部下方有恶性肿瘤，即使已经切除，但是由於没有长期追踪，1996年11月2日Cassidy因皮肤癌而离开了这个世界，当时她仅仅三十三岁。

    她那来自天籁般的演唱折服了很多人，在她去世之後不久，“华甚顿地区音乐奖”当中Cassidy 不但夺下最佳女演唱人、“Live At Blues Alley”也夺得年度最佳专辑，甚至Cassidy 被选为年度最佳艺人。她与制作人Biondo一起努力的专辑《Eva By Heart》终於在1997年发行，也获得了更多的赞美。

    1999年Eva Cassidy演唱的《Over the Rainbow》〔原唱者∶Judy Garland〕，让英国BBC的DJ Paul Walters为之惊艳，在电台播送这首歌时，引起听众热烈回响，後来搭配英国BBC的一个慈善节目，这才令世人真正发现了这颗深海遗珠，所以《Songbird》这张专辑当时在英国狂卖，还曾夺下过英国金榜的冠军。英国BBC民选统计的20世纪最伟大歌手名单中，Eva Cassidy名列第21位。

    在Eva Cassidy的音乐里面，其实很难去界定她的音乐类型，因为她的音乐当中揉合著爵士、蓝调、民歌，乃至於福音与灵歌的氛围。这样的音乐佐上Eva Cassidy天生宽阔的音域以及清透丝滑的音质，最後再加上Cassidy独特的断句方式，让每首歌都添加无比的想像空间。在老范的心中，这就是天堂的歌声、是来自天籁的歌声。

    上天把她送到人间，让她打动所有人后，很快又把她带回天堂。让所有热爱Eva Cassidy不断在心中存有凄婉；也让Eva Cassidy仅留的歌声变得更加弥足珍贵。

    老范最喜欢Eva Cassidy的歌是《Fields of Gold》。虽然听了很多年，还是要时常拿出来听听。这首歌没有视频的版本，只好收集一个用这首歌制作的动画跟大家分享了。
