 find oneself +(其它成份)总结与学习

今天我学习了以下内容:

 set out (出发)

1.     I was caught in traffic for an hour. (我赶上了塞车,被堵了一个小时)

Early next morning/afternoon/evening/(第二天一大早。。。。。。)

Early in the morning/afternoon/evening(一大清早。。。。。。)

On arriving at the shore=as soon as …(一。。。就。。。)

1.     On entering the gate, he was stopped by guard. (他一进大门,就给门卫给拦住了)

2.     On seeing the man, she waved and called out to him. (见到那个男的后,他立刻挥手并且招呼他)

All (that) you can do is to wait. (你能做的就是等待)

find oneself +(其它成份)表示或认识到自己处于某个什么位置,或某中情形,这种感觉不是主观臆愿所决定的。

1.     He found himself in a strange place. (我发现自己身处于一个陌生的地方。身处这种地方并不是她自己意愿所能决定的)

2.     She found herself unable to say anything on occasion like this. (她发现自己在这样的一种场合什么也说不出来。)

3.     I found myself trembling(我发现自己在发抖)

    before (连词,在。。。以前)

1.     It was three days before he came back. (三天以后,他才回来)

2.     The phone had rung for one minute before someone answered it. (电话铃响了一分钟才有人接)在这两个例句中,如果before在中间连接两个分句,而前面的分句是表示过了多长时间,可译为才。。。

Worried/surprised/ amused/ excited/ amazed/ confused/ shocked (这几与感觉相关的单词都可以用作形容词,它们经常与be,get ,feel等词连用,构成系表结构

  All week= for a whole week. (一整星期)

Call at= pay a visit to (拜访)

be wanted (意思很多,要根据上下文来判断)

1.     These two men are wanted by the police.(这两个正受到警方的通缉)

2.     You are wanted on the phone. (有人电话里要找你)

 

1.He doesn’t live these anymore (他现在不住在那儿了)

2.Now he is no longer worried. (现在他不再担心了)

3.     Now he is not worried anymore. (与第二句是同义句)

pick up(接人等很多意思)

1.     He picked up the phone. (他拿起了电话)

2.     I’ll come to pick you up at seven. (十点钟我来接你)

3.     He picked up a few words of English during his holiday in England. (他在英语度假期间,学了几句英语)

被动语态

1.     He never expected the bicycle to be found. (他从来也没有指望这辆自行车还能找到)to be found.这是个不定式短语,用的是被动语态。

2.     He never expected that the bicycle would be found. 这是个定语从句,would be found.是被动语态

3.     He never expected that the police would find the bicycle. 这是个主动语态的句子。

请注意这三个句子都是同义句,在句式上有所差异。
