People cut down many trees so elephants are losing their homes.

People also kill elephants for their ivory. for:为了

Today there are only about 3,000 elephants.( over 100,00 before).

there are/ is +sb(sth) +地点 在某地有某人或某物 如：There are many people in the park.

Over:超过 There are over 1,000 students in our school.

We must save the trees and not buy things made of ivory. Be made of :由—制成 This boat is made of paper.(这艘船是用纸制成的。
