Marching Band Changes My Life

  Marching Band has become a huge impact in my life. I remember in middle school, my older brother joined the Fremont marching band and I always made fun of how nerdy he was for doing so. "I'll never join band", I thought to myself.

  Well, when I came to Fremont, I fell in love with music and had a huge desire to play instruments and learning new things. I joined the marching band and my entire personality and character changed. I was amazing!

  I stopped becoming the shallow girl who'd only make friends with the "cool" crowd. I saw everything in black and white before, but now marching band has shaped me into a much more generous and open-minded person towards the world.

  I'm definitely not as judgmental anymore either, because my mindset of band kids were band geeks. I now view everyone as people, and people should never be judged on the activities they do nor the way they look and dress.

  Marching band has also made me into a huge performer and has impacted my love for music greatly. I now have learned two new instruments ever since I have joined the Fremont Marching Band, the mallets and the saxophone.

  I realized how amazing the people in this program are, and how dedicated and difficult the activity is. It's not just some activity people can spit on (like how I did before joining it), it's an extremely difficult and time-consuming activity to commit to.

                                       步操乐队改变了我的生活

  步操乐队对我人生的影响是巨大的。我依然记得，在我读初中的时候，我哥哥加入了弗利蒙高中的步操乐队。那时，我经常嘲笑他，调侃他的行为与书呆子如出一辙。 “我永远都不会加入乐队的”。 我信誓旦旦。

  事实怎么样呢？ 当我升入弗利蒙高中的时候， 对音乐的渴望犹如死灰复燃，一发不可阻挡。 我想再玩一种乐器，想尝试新鲜事物，欲望如此强烈，于是，不假思索, 我加入了校步操乐队。更没想到的是，它竟然从此改变了我的性情和爱好。太神奇了。

  那个肤浅的女孩不见了。从前，我只愿意结交“酷”类朋友；看待问题非黑即白。如今，Marching Band打开了我的视野，并把我塑造成为一个更加慷慨和开朗的人。

  我绝对不会再随意对人乱下定义。那些曾经被我视为呆头呆脑的家伙们，现在已经是我同一战壕的战友。现在，我更愿意象看待正常人那样看待身边的朋友，而不是戴了有色眼镜，以貌取人，以衣取人。

  Marching Band让我自信地在众人面前表现自己，也激发了我对音乐的热爱。自此加入了步操乐队，我已经学会了两种新乐器：用木槌敲打管琴和吹奏萨克斯管。

  在Marching Band, 我发现这些人都太神了。他们用敬业精神和坚韧的毅力，面对各种各样的困难和挑战。这些困难绝不似有些人想象中那样轻松，它实在是一件又耗时又耗心力但是必须不断坚持到底的活动。
